LEGO Universe Review
By Lindsay Osborne | May 18, 2010
The LEGO Universe is here.
Help the MiniFigs enter the Universe.
This game has all the trademark elements you now anticipate from LEGO.
The theme is really cool. The Design function is amazing.
The graphics will absolutely impress. Audio and scripts also. So what is the game plan within LEGO Universe?
It all starts by putting together a minifig, so you select eyes, mouth, pick from a selection of arms, and designs on the face of the minifig’s chestplate. The arms and legs toss around as you move the minifigs. There’s also a screen where you select which character you desire to represent. There’s some amusing add ons there also.
You create a username but until it’s approved you get to use a temporary one.
Projected audience is males roughly 8 and less but I would guess the market should wind up being a lot wider. See if you can prevent dads playing this one.
The instinct of every mini fig holds a spiritual like energy.
Crushed enemies are disassembled but there is no notion of dying and no spilling of blood, the vanquished enemies only lose that spiritual force.
LEGO minifigs are only a medium for that energy.
Surreal but in an actually good way.
LEGO have stayed with recognizable material like Medieval, Space, Pirates etc.
There are LEGO animals roving around.
This is actually a groovy game that will not only employ a child’s imagination but raise it as well.
A large thumbs up for a task well done LEGO
So I can heartily recommend purchasing the LEGO Universe. It has all the positive traits that you want from a premier class video game. Great interaction with the child and a real positive sense of developmental design. I was very impressed with it. It was a real pleasure to review.
